ArtCrush Gala
The 2021 ArtCrush Gala, co-chaired by Amy Phelan and Jamie Tisch will feature a live auction of incredible contemporary artworks. A limited number of tickets and tables are available for this event. Silent Auction works will be available online as of July 27, 2021. ArtCrush, the Museum’s annual gala and fundraiser will take place Buttermilk Ski Area on August 6. The 2021 event will honor painter Mary Weatherford with the Aspen Award for Art.
ArtCrush Auction
The ArtCrush 2021 auction includes a curated selection of over 45 exceptional works by some of the most exciting artists working today. Lots range from $6,000 to over $300,000 and include painting, sculpture, ceramics, weaving, photography, work on paper and design art. Ten lots will form part of a live auction during the Aspen Art Museum’s summer gala on August 6 at 8 PM M.T. Absentee and phone bids can be submitted via bid@aspenartmuseum.org.
The auction features works by Kelly Akashi, Rita Ackermann, James Benning, Jonathan Berger, Emanoel Araujo, Nacho Carbonell, Marc, Camille Chaimowicz, Mary Corse, Ann Craven, Marc Dennis, Buck Ellison, Cerith Wyn Evans, Keltie Ferris, Mario Garcia Torres, Jack Goldstein, Rogan Gregory, Maren Hassinger, Basil Kincaid, Sanya Kantarovsky, Barbara Kasten, Karen Kilimnik, Forrest Kirk, Hein Koh, Florian Krewer, Jesse Krimes, Gabriel Kuri, Mernet Larsen, Dana Lok, Ryan McGinley, Dave Muller, Oscar Murillo, Ruby Neri, Precious Okoyomon, Woody de Othello, Catherine Opie, Angel Otero, Matt Paweski, Gabriel Rico, Leon Polk Smith, Vaughn Spann, Adam Stamp, Tavares Strachan, Kate Spencer Stewart, Vivian Suter, Thomas Wachholz, Kelly Wall, Mary Weatherford, Nicole Wermers, and Jon Young.
All the works have been donated to the museum by a group of incredibly generous artists and galleries, in support of the museum’s artistic and educational programs, and will be on view at the Aspen Art Museum July 27–August 5.

Sotheby’s is honored to host the iconic ArtCrush 2021 auction to benefit the Aspen Art Museum, online for the first time.
Please note there will be no buyer’s premium added to the hammer price and the difference between the mid-estimate and the winning bid is a tax-deductible donation to the museum. The winning bidder will receive a tax acknowledgement letter from the museum for this amount.
Please note that while this auction is hosted on Sothebys.com, it is being administered by the Aspen Art Museum (AAM), and all post-sale matters (inclusive of invoicing and property pickup/shipment) will be handled by the AAM. As such, Sotheby’s will share the contact details for the winning bidders with the AAM so that they may be in touch directly post-sale.
About the Honoree
Based in Los Angeles, Weatherford has expanded the possibilities for abstract painting over the past three decades, engaging with the medium’s legacy from a feminist perspective while simultaneously grappling with the full breadth of her experience outside the studio.
