The 2022 ArtCrush Gala, co-chaired by Chandra Johnson, Jamie Tisch and Sara Zilkha will feature a live auction of incredible contemporary artworks. A limited number of tickets and tables are available for this event. Silent Auction works will be available online as of July 29, 2022. Taking place from August 1 to 4, the week offered a vibrant series of artist performances, talks and live events to complement the exhibitions on view at the Aspen Art Museum. In 2022, artist Gary Simmons was honored with the 2022 Aspen Award for Art.
ArtCrush Auction
The 2022 ArtCrush auction was presented by Sotheby’s and featured 10 live lots in addition to 63 donated works in an online auction. The ArtCrush 2022 auction includes a curated selection of exceptional works by some of the most exciting artists working today. Lots range from under $5,000 to over $200,000 and include painting, sculpture, ceramics, fabric work, work on paper and design art. All the works have been donated to the museum by incredibly generous artists and galleries, in support of the Museum’s artistic and educational programs, and will be on view at the Aspen Art Museum July 30–August 5.

Please note there will be no buyer’s premium added to the hammer price and the difference between the mid-estimate and the winning bid is a tax-deductible donation to the museum. The winning bidder will receive a tax acknowledgement letter from the museum for this amount.
Please note that while this auction is hosted on Sothebys.com, it is being administered by the Aspen Art Museum (AAM), and all post-sale matters (inclusive of invoicing and property pickup/shipment) will be handled by the AAM. As such, Sotheby’s will share the contact details for the winning bidders with the AAM so that they may be in touch directly post-sale.
About the Honoree
Gary Simmons will be honored with the Aspen Award of Art for his abstract minimalist representation art next week. The award was established to recognize an artist who has made exemplary contributions to the global dialogue on contemporary art. The award is part of a series of events that will take place Aug. 1–6 for the Aspen Art Museum’s second annual ArtWeek.
