World Premiere:
SOULSKIN Dance

Exploring abstract shifts of energy and intention, SOULSKIN Dance presents a new performance commissioned by the AAM. Choreographed in response to Alan Shields’s creative process and exhibition, Protracted Simplicity (1966–1985), the piece takes place within the exhibition. A select number of first come, first serve visitors will be seated to experience this free performance amongst the artworks. Tickets are available starting at 10 a.m. on July 7, limited to two per person.

SOULSKIN is supported by Dancers’ Group’s Fiscal Sponsorship program, which currently serves over 100 Bay Area dance companies and independent artists. Dancers’ Group, founded in 1982, is a hybrid presenting and service whose mission is to promote the visibility and viability of dance. Its guiding vision is of dance situated at the center of civic life and a dance ecosystem in the Bay Area that is diverse, resilient, and artistically vibrant. Learn more at dancersgroup.org.
